A warm welcome

Hi, I’m LJ, a landscape photographer based near Edinburgh, Scotland.

I love exploring the wild landscape, misty mountains and charming corners of Scotland, and capturing the unique beauty of each season along the way.

I am delighted to have turned my adventures into fine art photography prints, bringing you the magic and mystery of Scotland through my lens. I am also available for commissions and to work with brands. Please get in touch with me to discuss your ideas.

Thank you for looking at my work and I hope you enjoy discovering Scotland through my portfolio.

Life outside photography

I have been fortunate to have travelled all over the world but my all time favorite trip out with Scotland, was when my husband and I visited Japan. Hands down the coolest trip we have taken.

I have years of experience as a wedding and portrait photography before moving into landscape photography which I find is much more ‘me’ and aligned to my love of travel and adventure and gives me such a sense of connection to my work.

I have two little boys and they often join on my photography ventures across Scotland. They have now seen quite a lot of Scotland at their young ages of 6 and 2. My oldest son has been in all over Scotland, the Scottish Highlands, the Outer Hebrides among other Scottish Islands with us.

When I’m not exploring the wild landscapes and pretty places across Scotland, I love the adventures found in books, cosy blanket, hot chocolate and listening to heavy rain outside.

I love learning and studied Business Studies with Marketing at University and graduated with First Class Honours. I also was awarded the University Programme Medal, and am very proud of these achievements.

I have become a bit of historian thanks to watching a wee show called Outlander, this show has opened a love of Scottish history I didn’t know was right there in front of me. Have you ever watched a show or read a book that changed you? For me, that is Outlander, I couldn’t love this series any more than I already do. I now love visiting Scottish historical sites, a lot of which happen to be Outlander filming locations, learning about the past and teaching my children all about it.

It is very hard to choose favourite places in Scotland but Eilean Donan Castle does hold a special place in my heart as does the Isle of Skye. I have also done the North Coast 500 and was blown away by the beauty in the most remote locations of Scotland. There is one other special place I should mention, and I am very lucky to live a stones throw from it, and that of course is Midhope Castle, or if you’re an Outlander fan like me; Lallybroch.
